Please join us on WednesdayDecember 13th for our next meeting.  We will have food and drinks provided by Atlas World Group.  Our topic this month is SQL Server 2005, presented by Toby Kraft and Matt Metcalf.  Toby will provide us with some overview information about this new version and Matt will bring us some of his real world experiences with SQL Server 2005.  They will also discuss new features of SQL 2005, including ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

Be sure to attend, we'll be giving away your choice of either a Microsoft TechNet subscription or Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition!  And for presenting our topic Matt and Toby will be able to select an item from our giveaway merchandise (software, books, t-shirts, etc.).  We will also have a couple random drawings to give away some additional stuff!  This merchandise has been donated to our group by Microsoft and Culminis.

We hope to see you all on Wednesday!  Come...get some food, get some knowledge, and get some free stuff!

Thank you.

 Meeting Notes Minimize

We had 23 people attend this month's meeting.  Our topic was SQL Server 2005, presented by Toby Kraft & Matt Metcalf.  I'd like to thank them for all of their hard workAnyone interested in presenting a future topic please contact me and we can make the arrangements.

I'd also like to thank Atlas World Group for supplying our group with sandwiches, pasta salad and drinks for this meeting.  I know everyone really enjoyed it.   As always, if your company would be interested in supplying the group with food for one of our monthly meetings contact me.

At this meeting we added something new, we had a 10 minute presentation/review of a design pattern.  Thank you to Matt Beasley for doing a great job of overviewing the state pattern for us.  Matt's book of reference for his discussion was Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software.  From now on, we'll try and bring a quick 10 minute topic to each meeting, something that will hopefully spark your interest to learn more on your own.

The presentation materials have been uploaded to our website and are available for download.  Visit the Resources section of our site to download the presentations.

Our next meeting is January 17th and the topic hasn't been decided yet, I'll send an announcement as soon as a decision is made.
