We had a very good meeting today.  About 25 members came out for the meeting.  We introduced ourselves and discussed what tools and technologies we were currently using.  We then formed a list of topics and voted on them to see which ones generated the most interest.

Here's the table we came up with, sorted by descending interest level:

These were mentioned after we broke up.

Web Matrix / LightSwitch
Azure / Cloud computing

As you can see, we came up with a lot of good ideas and even some volunteers to present some of them.

Another item that was discussed was the desire to have short beginner/intro sessions on specific topics at each meeting.   These would be brief narrow focus topics along the lines of C# syntax, linq tips, VS tips, VS extensions, etc.

We'll be digesting this information and integrate it into our planning this year.

Food was provided by Keller Schreoder and we had Subway sandwiches this time.

Thanks to all who came out and contributed to the group today!

Toby

PS - comment from one of our members:

We are looking forward to this year’s meetings.   It sounds like you have a good list of topics.

I especially like the idea of doing the short “beginner” or “intro” topics at the meetings.  For us newer users, short tips and topics are easier to digest and investigate further once we return to our office.

Thanks!

Cathy F
