We had about 33 people attend this meeting which is another good turnout.

And we had a functioning projector and the light low enough to be able to see the image on the screen!  If you were with us last month, you know how great that was.

Rob did a great job giving an overview of benefits of developing an application on a platform such as SharePoint.  He also showed a couple of simple apps to give us a taste for development.

If you are interested in digging in to it, you definitely want to spend some time learning the lingo of standard SharePoint stuff like lists, libraries, custom lists, views, packages, features and the built-in out-of-the-box functionality.  Once you have an idea of the playing field, then check out the tutorials and videos in the resource section of Rob's notes to see how to extend SP via custom development.

Thanks to everyone that came out for the meeting.

We're still working on the next meeting in September.
